ARRL Field Day, June 2025

Field Day was last weekend, and we had a great time doing it. Good fellowship, good food and lots of tech! Here are a few of the highlights from the weekend! We had seventeen hams attend; a good turn out!

A great location for operating field day. Steve shared his beautiful location in Pine Forest. On the left is the air conditioned garage we used for gathering and some operating.
Mickey on the left operating digital and Michael on the right assisting with logging contacts to the server.
Bill on the left operating 20M SSB and Ron who is operating CW from his RV with CW-Jim (see next pic).
CW-Jim on the left and Ron on the right. They worked CW from Ron’s RV the Lazy Daze. Jim is the CW speed demon in the club exceeding 20 words per minute. WOW! That is Ron’s StarLink internet connection behind Jim on the left. Have StarLink, will travel 🙂
Al, a long-time club member, Lee ( and his best friend Baily at his feet ), who worked from his RV for the weekend and Steve, our host for the weekend. See next pic for Lee at his desk in his RV.
Lee and “Man’s best friend” working digital over the weekend. The Tee shirt says “I survived cycle 25” which refers to a sunspot phenomenon. As radio amateurs the sunspot activity effects our ability to receive signals. We are in cycle 25 right now.
Steve demonstrating his smoker. He provided some great brisket on Saturday. Behind the smoker to the left is Ron’s RV. What a beautiful place to spend time on the weekend!
10 of the seventeen members gathering before field day actually started.
Cannot do radio without antennas. These 2 were being used by Bruce and Mickey for Digital.
One of the endfed antennas in use for the weekend.

I am really looking forward to the Winter Field Day!
